ADVICE AND INFLUENCE

“…you know, Barack can get shot going to the gas station, you know.”

My first reaction to Michelle Obama’s statement is, “Well, who would shoot him and why?” Would it be an assassination attempt on a black political figure ala Medgar Evers murder by white supremacist Byron De La Beckwith? Or would it be the result of street-gang violence, maybe car-jacking a rich white guy? After all, Obama is half black and half white. So which is it Michelle, a white victim or a black victim? What was the racial implication?

“…before we can work on the problems, we have to fix our souls. Our souls are broken in this nation.”

Another beauty, courtesy of Michelle. Is this not the quintessential liberal’s attitude? In other words, we have not been properly brainwashed to the point that we embrace Marxism wholeheartedly. Sorry, but if the fact that I love the idea of the American Dream means that my soul is broken then, so be it. Question: If I work hard to provide for myself and my family and manage to pay all of my taxes, does that mean my soul is broken; or, is it the guy who refuses to work and instead collects welfare, unemployment, food stamps, charitable donations, free medical attention, etc.? I give and he takes, but my soul is broken. Interesting.

Thanks Michelle, I appreciate the help. After all, “it takes a village,” right? This might be the common ground necessary for an Obama/Clinton ticket. You never know; Barack’s message is one of “unity.”

The coup de grace. I don’t really feel the need to expound on this one. But…

…how about the man who headed the Afro-centrist church that Barack has attended for twenty years? Jeremiah Wright baptized the Obama’s daughters, married Barack and Michelle, and is now known to have spewed his racist, bigoted, vile, treasonous, and hate-filled tripe all the while. Here are some of his hits:

In reference to 9/11: “America's chickens are coming home to roost.”

“The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color"

"The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, God damn America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people...God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.”

“He set me free to be me. I can't be a colored coon on the faculty at Vanderbilt with no sense of pride. And I can't be a Supreme Court judge called long dong silver who disrespects black women and himself. I got to be me. I can't be a lyin' five-star general who leads an entire nation into war on a lie. And I can't be a sec of state who goes shopping on Broadway while folks are drowning in New Orleans--I got to be me.”

“Listen to me and listen carefully, neither Hillary, Hannity, nor Hobbes ever had a grandparent in slavery or on a slave ship beneath the decks, never had a grandparent in a slave dungeon on the coast of west Africa as a prisoner. That's my people's story and if you think I'm gonna stop telling it, you got another damn thing coming!”

This is the one that gets me the most: “Hillary never had to worry about being pulled over in her car as a black man driving in the wrong! I am sick of Negroes who just do not get it! Hillary was not a black boy raised in a single parent home! Barack was. Barack knows what it means to be a black man living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people! Hillary can never know that! Hillary ain't never been called a nigger! Hillary has never had her people defined as nonpersons! Hillary ain't had to work twice as hard just to get accepted by the rich white folk who run everything, or to get a passing grade when you know you are smarter than their C-students sitting in the White House. Hillary ain't never had her own people say she wasn't white enough!”

Let’s look at poor, little Barack’s difficult life. A private high-school in Hawaii then under-grad at Columbia, and then Harvard Law. He then spent the next three years or so practicing law and then another ten years teaching Constitutional law (at the University of Chicago). During his teaching career, he was elected to the Illinois Senate (1996) and became a United States Senator in 2004. He’s also written two best-selling books. It really sounds like ole Barry had it rough…kept down by “rich, white folk.”

Okay, Michelle is a grown woman and Jeremiah Wright is a grown man and each is entitled to their own opinions. They have the right to be ignorant and anti-American. They can even burn the Flag if they want to. I whole-heartedly believe in the right to free speech. Sure, I’m bothered by the statements made by these two idiots, but in the grand scheme, they don’t matter.

What matters is Barry Obama’s association with them. Let me say that again: I don’t care about the Rev. Wright’s race issue or Michelle’s dumb-ass comments, only Barry’s association with the racist and the idiot. These are two of the most influential people in Barry’s life and you can guarantee that they have had an influence on how he thinks. Only an idiot would think otherwise. This is the issue. How much does America want a divisive figure as president? Sure, Bill Clinton and George Bush are very polarizing figures; but, they entered their terms as partisans at worst. Obama would be entering his first term as president on the basis of division.

Allegiance is yet another factor brought into question with Wright. Trinity, as a part of their mission statement, swears loyalty to Africa. Keep in mind that this loyalty isn’t Africa and then America; the loyalty is to Africa alone! This is one of the founding principles of a church that Obama has attended for twenty years! Does anyone think that he might agree with such sentiments, else why would he hold and continue to hold his membership in that church? This issue has very little to do with race and everything to do with associations.

Forget, for a moment, Obama’s plans on taking from the rich and giving to the poor (ala Marx). Forget that he wants to increase spending beyond the current giant deficits and also increase taxes on everyone except the welfare class. Forget that he wants to increase taxation on the upper classes, which has historically proven to quash revenue and growth. Forget that he got into a pissing match with Hillary over who has voted to give women more access to abortion, yet, he wants to create more gov’t regulation everywhere else. Forget all that and simply think about where his loyalties really lie and who, exactly, is whispering advice in his ear.
