Hillary's power grab

This presidential election is nuts. We've got another Clinton in the mix (need I say more?), America's first black candidate (though he has more causasian ancestry than black) whose long-time reverand hates America and one of his friends is a known terrorist, and then the unlikely GOP nominee of McCain who only has one foot on the conservative side of the political spectrum. Since McCain's already locked in, let's look at Hillary instead:

Any other candidate would have gracefully bowed out months ago. Not Hillary. She must know how disliked, hated even, she is by so many people. This election is likely her only viable shot at taking home the prize, and she knows it. It's got to be this year or never.

What's amazing, that after all the stubborness she's showed by staying in the race, is the fact that her stubborness may actually pay off. If she wins big enough, she could close enough of the gap to Obama for ligitamate consideration for the nomination. Afterall, Hillary did win the traditional Democrat states, not Obama.

No one in the mainstream media, that I've seen, is taking into consideration the possible impacts of Rush Limbaugh. He has been coordinating his "Operation Chaos" for the past few months and, so far, has been successful. The success can't really be measured but, it surely isn't hurting Hillary. Here's the premise behind "Operation Chaos:" Since McCain is the Republican nominee, Republican voters have nothing to lose by voting for Hillary in their state's Democrat elections. This keeps Hillary in the race and keeps the mud-slinging from the Clinton camp in-play. The scheme is as old as it gets, to be honest. Rush hasn't invented a new political ploy here, he's just renamed it and crowned himself the commanding general for it.

The greatest part of "operation Chaos" is that Obama is getting hammered and McCain is not the one to have to do it. Hillary, with her punch-you-in-the-nuts manner, has no reservations against stooping to the lowest heights in order to smear her opponents. If she gets the nod, she'll do it to McCain too, but for now she's beating up Barry. Meanwhile, McCain is trooping about the country already acting presidential while Barry and Hillary look like guests on the Jerry Springer Show.

Whether Rush has had anything to do with Hillary's still being in the race, I don't know. What I do know is that she won't hold back on Obama and she probably doesn't give a crap about the damage she might be doing to the Democrat party. Make no mistake, Hillary is after the White House and all the power that comes with it. I fully expect her to crush anyone who tries to get in her way. Howard Dean or Barry Obama included.

Let's say that her victory over Obama in yesterday's Pennsylvania elections isn't enough to significantly change the delegate count. Does anyone anticipate her to bow out of contention? Hell no. She'll just focus on buying or bribing, or threatening the super-delegates into voting for her. Not that she probably isn't doing that already. I honestly think her ambitions know no bounds. P.S. don't forget about Florida and Michigan!

What happens to Obama if she does snare the nomination away from him? I think that he goes back to being the most liberal senator in the Senate and starts showing more of his true colors on a national level. I don't think he'd be able to win another presidential election if the GOP were to put a moderately strong candidate against him. On a national scale, I think that we'd probably see riots and all manner of protests.

Hillary will have it worse, though, if she doesn't get the nomination. People are generally tired of the Clintons and she'll have to settle for being a lowly Senator again. Of course, she'll finish out her term and then probably retire to the speaking circuit where she'll rake in another hundred million in fees. But, that'll be the end of the woman's political career...and good riddance.
